In the frame of DroneSOM – EIT RM Project, Markku Pirttijärvi from RADAI met with Ina Storch and Enis Sterjo from Beak in Freiberg during March 2023 for a 1-week workshop and training on how to use self-organising maps (SOM) in 2D and 3D for mineral predictive mapping (MPM).
During March 2023, Tim Enzlberger Jensen from DTU Space together with Ana Bautista Gascueña, Roberto De La Rosa and Enis Sterjo from Beak Consultants GmbH conducted a test gravimetric ground survey in the “Erzgebirgsnordrand” area in Germany in the frame of DroneSOM – EIT RM Project, co-funded by EIT RawMaterials.
As part of the project, it is planned to complete a high-resolution drone-based gravimetric survey in the area and to apply self-organising maps (SOM) for mineral predictive mapping using advangeo® Software Solutions in 2D and 3D, later on.
The DroneSOM project runs until end of 2024 and aims to develop an unique combination for drone-based services provided by Radai Oy and DTU Space, and data processing and interpretation services using AI for the mineral sector of Europe, provided by Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) / Geologian tutkimuskeskus (GTK) and Beak Consultants GmbH.
The project is led by Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) / Geologian tutkimuskeskus (GTK) and co-funded by EIT RawMaterials.
